Curved Monitor for Fortnite | Should You Give It a Try? (2023)

Masakari played competitive FPS Games, for example, Fortnite, for over 20 years. He played finals on LAN events, fought with reUnited against the top clans of the German Counter-Strike scene (Mousesports, Deutschlands Kranke Horde, A-Losers, etc.), and is still in contact with a lot of pro players.

The post’s title is a bit clickbait, sorry, because which curved monitor is the best for Fortnite or FPS games in general?

Unfortunately, there is none.

That’s not just our opinion and experience, but that’s what Gaming Gear’s analysis of over 1700 pro gamers shows. We already wrote a post about it, the link of which you can find at the end of this post.

However, we would like to answer a few questions about using curved monitors for Fortnite. Maybe you already have one or need a little help deciding before buying a good gaming monitor.

Do Fortnite Pro Gamers Use Curved Monitors?

An analysis of over 1700 Pro gamers with data from Prosettings.net shows that no single gamer currently uses a curved monitor. Instead, 100% of the gamers use flat screens.

We have shown the disadvantages of curved screens for FPS games here:

Does Fortnite Support Curved Ultrawide Monitors in 4:3 or 16:9?

Ultrawide monitors are supported in Fortnite, but limited to a resolution with a ratio of 16:9. Black bars appear at the edges.

Honest recommendation:
You have the skill, but your mouse doesn't support your aiming perfectly? Never struggle with your mouse grip again. Masakari and most pros rely on the Logitech G Pro X Superlight. See for yourself with this honest review written by Masakari or check out the technical details on Amazon right now.

A gaming mouse that fits you makes a significant difference!

What Monitors Are Used at Fortnite World Cup?

Generally, Fortnite uses hardware from the main sponsors at major events. In this case, Alienware provided all monitors. At the last Fortnite World Cup, the pro gamers played with the Alienware AW2518H model.

Masakari and I have always done well buying the same gear as the best pros in a specific game. If you want to play on the same level, then gaming gear of the same quality is the least you can do.

We have done an analysis not only on Fortnite pro-gamers but also on pro-gamers of other FPS games. You can find the main post about the topic here:

Final Thoughts on Curved Monitors for Playing Fortnite

We are rarely negative about technology. Curved monitors make more sense than flat screens for many applications (Netflix 😉 ), but we are talking about first-person shooters here. For hand-eye coordination in Fornite, clear image quality plus low latencies during fast movements is the basis for a player’s performance.

Masakari and I don’t have two opinions about it, and more importantly, a representative mass of pro gamers see it the same way.

Curved monitors are unsuitable for FPS games.

Not because of the immersive experience – which is, of course, better than with flat screens, but because of numerous disadvantages that occur when playing FPS games.
